Put An Orange In Blender

Regional Park Beigua: a mosaic of environments.

In a land full of contrasts such as Liguria, wedged between the mountains and the sea, the Beigua Park - the largest regional natural park of Liguria - is an exemplary cross-section of the region where you can find in the travel sections for shorter development very diverse landscapes and environments: a spectacular balcony consists of mountains overlooking the sea where nature, history, culture and ancient traditions are elements of extraordinary value and interest.

A Park for the protection of biodiversity .

Twenty-six miles of mountain ridges, near the Ligurian Riviera, which develop from the Hill of the Pass Giovo Turchino parallel to the coast, passing through the peaks of M. Beigua (1287 m), Cima Frattin (1145 m) of M. Rama (1148 m) of M. Silver (1082 m) and M. Reixa (1183 m) and contain valuable wetlands and grasslands, dense forests of beech, oak and chestnut trees, steep cliffs and rocky outcrops, pine trees in Pine and strips of vegetation.

A mosaic of environments on the basis of which the mountain range Beigua is considered one of the richest areas of biodiversity in Liguria: a function of the wealth in the Park have been proposed as many as 3 Sites of Community Importance. The European Community, through the proposal of the Liguria Region and the Ministry for the Environment and Territory, has further recognized the extraordinary natural value of Beigua Park by establishing a Special Protection Area which is of particular importance for migratory birds (the 'area is recognized as an important area for the Birds "according to the classification of the Bird Life International). There are over 80 species of breeding some very fine as the golden eagle, harrier, redstart, the Nightjar and Red-backed Shrike.

along its routes more Park inaccessible and hidden from sight of man is the wolf and its foothills overlooking the sea is not unusual to see the slender silhouettes of whales passing in the stretch of water in front of Varazze, Cogoleto and Arenzano.

A district in which within a few kilometers you can enjoy blooms typical of the Mediterranean or run into unique high-altitude bogs, witnesses of past ages in which the rock and ice fought their daily battle to shape the Earth's surface.

A park where you can find colorful floral species are endemic (Viola Bertoloni Cerastium utriense, Asplenium cuneifolium, Daphne cneorum, Cheilantes marantae) and some unusual tenants belonging to the lower animals (such as the Montpellier snake, the newts, the crested newt The frog, etc...)

A park that the group encompasses three major Regional Forest (Deiva "in the City of Redwing," Lerone "in the municipalities of Arenzano and Cogoleto," Tiglieto "in the municipalities of Tiglieto, Masone and Campo Ligure) in which they live typical of the Ligurian ungulates such as wild boar, roe deer and deer.

A geological heritage recognized worldwide - Beigua Geopark.

Since March 2005, the Park Begue - Beigua Geopark is recognized as "Geopark" in the International Network of European Geoparks Network and Global Geoparks of UNESCO.

Beigua The Geopark covers the entire area designated as "Regional Nature Park Beigua" as well as a large portion of territory functionally connected to the same park. It grows to a total area of 39,230 acres, involving the municipalities of Arenzano, Campo Ligure, Cogoleto, Genova, Masone, Roussillon, Redwing, Stella, Tiglieto and Varazze. This

The picture is completed geological sedimentary formations of marine origin that include coarse breccias and conglomerates, sometimes alternating with marls and sandstones, which appear in sassellese in Varazze and Val Gargassa.

In the vast area of the Geopark as particular geomorphological characteristics, forms and related evidence, in some cases, disappeared in morphogenetic processes, which give the area a unique character such that it becomes part of Liguria: periglacial deposits in the summit portion of the Beigua solid forms and processes that bear witness The current model river (ravines and meandering received) and gravitational (rockfalls and clastic deposits) in the areas of the slope, to the marine terraces that record variations in sea level in the coastal strip between Arenzano and Varazze.

The district is also characterized by interesting paleontological areas, often characterized by abundant fossil content and in good condition, as well as sites of mineralogical interest, famous especially for the presence of spectacular garnets, which have enriched the collections of all the world. Not least, finally, the wealth of water resources, which are manifested in forms of surface and groundwater and related disorders aquifers in significant quantitative and qualitative terms.

A Park for Sustainable Development .

Park Beigua is also characterized by a legacy of historical and cultural, on the territory or in the museums that tell the evolution of human settlements of the park and the important trade routes between the coast and crossed the Po Valley.

Such a precious resource to pass on to future generations makes the park an area of special interest not only for the conservation of biodiversity, but also for the protection and enhancement of the cultural identity of each community present within it, as well as a laboratory for experimentation and development of socio-economic development.

From the Paleontological findings that demonstrate how the forests of Mount Beigua were visited in prehistoric times by hunters and shepherds, passing to the increasingly important role that the area became important as a crossroads of trade routes between the coast and the plains Valley, with considerable momentum within the Orba Valley of setting the Cistercian monks at the Abbey of Tiglieto (founded 1120), to the traditional farming and forest management that have defined the land use in recent centuries, the area of the Park del Beigua ha sempre manifestato una presenza significativa, condizionante e rassicurante dell'uomo a presidio delle risorse ambientali presenti in questa porzione del territorio ligure, laddove è ancora visibile un ricco e diffuso patrimonio dell'edilizia e dei manufatti rurali.

Completano il quadro l'apicoltura, crops of wild berries and medicinal plants, the wide range of dairy products (which was located in Valle Stura a cultural journey - food: "The Valleys of Milk"), the processing of beef and sheep and the sought-after collection and storage of mushrooms.

How to get there.
